I use Castrol Magnatec C3 5W30 Fully Synthetic - i'm a big fan of Magnatec and oil is one thing i try not to cut corners on :D It keeps my engine happy.

Clean it and have a look - if it's in good condition it can be used again.

The wheel offset was changed at some point (around 2001?) from ET36 (i think) to ET45 - so older wheels will not fit a newer freelander (unless you use some spacers to clear the larger brakes).

The interior fan connector is at the back left side of the drivers footwell - it's easy enough to knock it with your foot - i do all the time - which can make the connection loose and cause the fan to turn off. Give it a wiggle and see if that works - if it does it's just a case of making sure...
