Just done mine and I used some laminate floor under foam, about 2mm closed cell topped with a 12mm stable mat. Blooming great! Cuts down loads of road rumble and dead easy to clean with two messy kids and a dog.

Glad you got it sorted, cleaning the earths etc would not be a wasted job though :D
