Hi folks, I've found the answer to my own question. So just in case anyone else is interested here it is: According to the workshop manual, (wot I've just bought), it should be between 25 and 55 psi with a warm engine and normal running speeds. 25 is the tickover pressure.

Thanks Mike, I'm thinking maybe a 300 Tdi Disco rather than the Td5. Easier to work on, just a matter of finding a solid one.
