Im sure when you take your box out you will find your clutch is down to rivets but hopefully its gone on the side away from the flywheel i had similar problems on a punto and it was a worn clutch plate and your best keeping your gaylander as the discos are not that great as people make out to...

take your glow plugs out wrap some electrical wire round the end of the plug touch it to the battery terminal and the other end of the piece of wire to the other terminal then the glow plug end should glow orange /red (very hot) if it dont glow the glow plug is dead, do this with all your plugs...

check your rear subframe bolts apparently they come loose and squeak or the sub frame cracks so just have a good luck for any cracks and check the bolts for tightness

yeah window drops when opening back door best way is to check it opens and shuts without putting any strain on the glass

The mirror only fails if the mirror backing is broken and has sharp edges of the plastic casing.The glass should be ok aslong as its just a crack but to pass mot you need two mirrors and one has to be the drivers one as stig mentioned

hi all just wondered if any one could explain why my freelander on a v reg (2000) does not have abs/traction control hill decent button.Im not really that bothered as the car will be mainly used for driving to work and round town but just wondered if anyone knew why the guys at landrover left...

After a good luck under the bonnet for the first time i realised it does not have a abs pump so therefore does not have abs so the abs light on the dash and the fuses must be there to confuse you :confused: I assumed that all freelanders had abs but im a newbie so dont really know to much...

Checked the bulb today seems ok even swapped them round to see if it would make a difference but still no joy.Looks like it will have to go on the machine tomorrow :confused:

hi there i have just bought a freelander on a V reg :) Everything seems ok however when i turn the ignition on the ABS light should come on for a few seconds then go out how ever it does not come on at all.So is there any suggestions to what could be wrong? i can see the ABS sign on the dash if...

hi my landy is breathing a fair bit so i changed the rubber ring on the filler cap and now it dont spill over the top but my friend reckons i should change my oil to some thick 20 50 oil or something in order to help it. I was wondering what your suggestions are and what kind of oil is best...

hi there, i have recently had this problem with my defender 90 and it turned out to be the alternator was playing up so i put a recon one on and now its fine :)
