1990 3.9 - one step forward and two steps back

so to be fair both times its broken down have things that would go on any petrol engine, not really the cars fault! Lesson learnt, next time I buy a 2nd hand V8 that I don't know the history of, replace the coil, plugs and leads straight away! Is it worth replacing the distributor cap now as well?

1990 3.9 - one step forward and two steps back

Hi Kev. Just spoke to the guy at the garage they took it too, and he said it started and ran fine last night.. so he thinks we probably just flooded it. So hes going to put a new set of plugs in it (the previous garage already changed the leads). And do the oils and filters whilst hes at it...

1990 3.9 - one step forward and two steps back

the RACV centre they took it to had it in for about half a day, changed the leads and got it running (but very roughly, and kept cutting out). Anyway they thought perhaps the fuel regulator or something, but wernt keen to keep chasing the problem as its not a vehicle any of them are familiar...

    1990 Range Rover teething problems

could this be related to the problem iv been having with it cutting out? It occasionaly cuts out when pulling up to a junction. and sometimes when i start, the revs jump around a bit on tickover, like i start and it revs up to 2000rpm, then drops down to <500.... its a bit odd

hey, thats great cheers. Hes in Bayswater so not far from me at all. Maybe an hour or so. Il give him a ring tomorrow, although I suspect his prices will be waaay over my budget! great advice thanks. Well i bit the bullet and bought a 40 litre Engel today. I know what you are saying about other fridges, but to be honest I have heard mixed reports about other fridges eg. Waeco.. mostly good but some bad. I think it has been nearly all positive feedback I have heard about...

    Melbourne - Perth - Broome - Alice Springs - Adelaide - Melbourne

yeh bought it over here. I would have loved to have shipped my 110 over, but as I am only on a temporary working holiday visa I was unable to do so. You need to be a citizen or have permanent residency to import a car, and you need to have proof of ownership for at least a year in the previous...

ah well my 1989 disco was one that i bought for the injun, which i put in the 90... still counts though! the 1991 disco was my first landy, had it for a couple of months but it was a dog of a car so flogged it pretty quick... the 90 was my first proper 90 which i would still have as my everyday...
