What have you done to your Freelander today

Yeah! That's how I got into this mess in the first place. :(

What have you done to your Freelander today

Still trying to fit the god-damn thermostat. I'm seriously considering following the instructions in the Haynes manual but keep getting to the bit where they say remove the injectors and think WTF!

    LZ 10th anniversary celebration

I'm up for this. I'll have a word with SWMBO tonight / tomorrow and see if she's up for it.

    Trying to change the thermostat.

    Turbo Vent Filter Missing?

It hangs down between the bulkhead and engine on the left hand side. Pic attached for reference (although my engine is in bits at the moment because I'm changing the thermostat).

and so my fuel pump dies on my td4

I replaced mine in September 2012. I bought the part from RST Landrovers here: Landrover Freelander Td4 Fuel Pump Under Wheel Arch 02 | eBay I believe it's an OEM part. The guy that runs it is very helpful.

    How should the clutch feel?!

Mine's an 06 TD4. I wouldn't say the clutch is light but it isn't heavy either.

    Td4 problems

For what it's worth, I replaced mine last year with an OEM part and can barely hear it with the engine not running. Can't hear it at all once the engine is running.

    Td4 problems

The cheap, aftermarket, pumps are a false economy really as they don't last anywhere near as long as the OEM part.

Insurance, Lift kit, steel wheels and AT tyres

Wasn't LR owned by firstly the Rover Group (BL as was) and then BMW for the original Freelander and then by Ford for the Freelander 2? There were certainly a lot of Fomoco parts the the 2010MY Freelander 2 that I had.

    VCU woes

    Who are they though?
  16. sijwhite

    VCU woes

Since LR and GKN have been very tight lipped about the spec of the VCU this seems very unlikely.

    in line thermostat mod td4

I fitted this mod on Friday. As rovermgfan says there is definitely room for it in the top hose. The thermostat that comes with it is rated at 88ºC which is correct for the engine but I think the distance the in-line mod is from the engine means a lower rated thermostat should be used. After...
