Im actually doubting whats been said now, so Im getting a second opinion tomorrow, the rot is below the number plate area, on the inside of the cross member, approx 6 inches missing and the rest seems solid, so maybe this can be salvaged as Ive seen a lot worse on here that have been repaired to...

Yeah its rough to touch Everyone has mentioned the same regarding dirt but it jetwashes no problem, and unlike gloss it stays looking clean in general - the pic shown is after around 5 weeks of sitting in various weathers whereas I know a gloss black would be looking dusty after a day or two...

Its covered in Upol bedliner, it has less of the blue hue in real life and looks a very matte black, and it literally disappears at night :D

Here it is prior to a visit to the MOT, its a shame my mechanical know how or lack of didnt pick up on these major issues

Thanks, Ill be asking for advice as soon as I get myself sorted and all the required parts. I persuaded myself today that welding is just a fancy way to glue things which made it a little less daunting :) Cheers!

Thanks for the encouragement, to be honest I would sooner gain a skill and spend the time than pay someone else for their time, I can find the time :) Im going to give it a week or two and then start compiling a list of parts, skills and plans Thanks

I literally just finished bolting my old seats back in after finishing the recon of the interior. Once the budget allows I can see some of these smart seats looking really good with a retrim maybe in harris tweed and leather.

You have me thinking now, those seats are reasonably priced but finding a whole matching set of leathers may be a different story. Thanks for sharing the idea :)

Those smart car seats look great, do they have any lift of function or you have to unbolt the whole seat to get at the battery?
