Question about slipped liners/Head gaskets, confused.com!

Update time, after my little test and checking for any signs of the head gasket having blown... all of which so far have come up blank I've been scratching my head as where to go next. It finally left a nice big patch of water on the drive! Right under the new water pump, finally something to...

This is a Range Rover. Sadly.

I'll second that, its just too aimed at the WAG/socialite set for my liking... too style over function, but then thats probably the old fart in me coming out!

Cheers guys, I'll i'll have to go hunting and see who stocks them. Right, tried the test I found today. The cap is releasing as far as i can tell as theres signs of water all down the inner wing but i've not tested it, wasn't aware you could? but saying that, I'll replace it anyway to be safe I think. Checked the hose again last night as part of my daily little routine to moniter its water...

Question about slipped liners/Head gaskets, confused.com!

You can't compress it at all by hand, its brick hard and bulging the hose! but it the same temp over its length so I'm deducing there's no air in there. Weather has been horrific today but hopefully get out tomorrow and try this gas test thing I posted early. If it comes back as exhaust gases in...

Question about slipped liners/Head gaskets, confused.com!

My thoughts exactly Saint.V8, will a slipped liner give the exact same symptoms of a failed head gasket or is there a difference? My thoughts were if its a cracked block which has caused the liner to slip then the water level would still overflow as the exhaust gases pass in the water jacket...

Question about slipped liners/Head gaskets, confused.com!

Found something interesting guys when hunting around, any reason this little test wouldn't work on the V8? Sounds like simple genius to me! I`ve got a FREE method of checking for combustion gas leaks into the water jacket all you need is a spark plug socket and a watering can. 1. remove all 6...

    New boge dampers very harsh!

I got them from a mate that deals with allmakes and britpart but they were in boge boxes and label as such on the shocks. I've got 18" Disco 3 wheels on and run the factory 28f 38r. Despite the back seeming high if I lower it the things all over the road! I've got OEM rubber bushes for the...

    New boge dampers very harsh!

Hi guys, Changed my shocks a few weeks back with Boge dampers and have to say I'm a little unimpressed with the ride. its more controlled in bends but good god its harsh over speed bumps and pot holes, a lot worse then the originals. Are there different types of Boge dampers out there for the...

4.0 P38 turns over for ages before starting!

Ok, pipe is spot on. No cracks or splits and the MAF is genuine. Mate with the MSV is going to check if he's got a MAF. Sadly what I thought was a petrol P38 is actually a diesel but reakons he might have one on his 4.6 engine in the garage... worth a try anyhow but sadly I can't be assured...

4.0 P38 turns over for ages before starting!

Ok, so I'll have a nose at the FPR and check the coil over the weekend. Cheers guys Having a further look on the net and read a bit about reseting the adaptive values after changing any sensors over. Does this need to be done with the ECU temp sensor? As it would maybe explain why its not...
