Making up a snorkel at the moment for my 3.9 Defender. Was going to cut the trumpet off the airbox and weld on a bit of tube so that I can clamp the pipe to it. Out of interest will this affect anything or is it not too important? Not quite sure why it has the trumpet on it. This beasty...

Very true, could be a quick fix if needed. Mine haven't frozen up again since filling em with WD40 tbh because even the push buttons would go solid before.

If you want it to handle better on the road then HD springs might be an idea although they also sit slightly higher than norm. Mine is blooming solid on the road compared with mates Landies. But it is bumpy off road I must admit. As above though, std height springs are fine and it will still be...

Im sure iv managed to get about 22 with careful driving from the 3.9. Should really do a full service,that would prob help. Change all the breathers too.
