The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

Iv come to the verdict that Britpart is just a bit of a chance. Iv a britpart rad that seems to be ok and a rear door and probably some other things that are alright. But iv had 5 brand new alternators and not one has worked. You pay your money, you take your chance. Might be good might be ****e.

    Rover V8 - Average Lifespan?!

I was told that at about 130-140k you should be looking at needing new cam etc, but I have seen a lot on much higher mileage, although iv no idea what they've had done. Hopefully it's true that with good maintanence they can do decent mileage.

Just how fast is a 200TDI?

I would say Heavy Duty springs are your friend if you want it to be a bit more solid. Although it will be quite bouncy off road.lol
  17. hammoj28

Just how fast is a 200TDI?

Lets face it, you dont buy a 200Tdi for speed, its a "reliable" (or so im told) diesel with acceptable power I guess and is suitable for many of the uses in which a Defender is required. In comparison with other Diesels such as a 300Tdi I guess they are probably fairly similar as they have the...

Lower reading on Volt gauge after fitting new alternator??

Well, went through 3 alternators that didnt work. Moral of the story, dont buy britpart I guess. Seems they have a bad batch at the moment. Bought a second hand one for 20quid and it works spot on. 14.3 V. Think the next time im just going to get things rebuilt if I can. Id prefer a rebuilt...
