    Going down under?

It's supposed to go to the air filter housing here: If your filter housing hasn't been tampered with or changed when they rerouted the pipe then you should just need a new pipe to refit it to the correct position. However if it's making a bit of a mess of your engine it's obviously...

    Defender 90 doors

Is this the part your looking for? YRM are pretty good I've had a galvanized exhaust bracket off them before and they do loads of repair sections for various LRs.

    Defender 90 doors

Doors can be quite expensive as they're often sought after because of the problem you have described. If its within your skill or you know someone who can help it's probably worthwhile repairing yours to get more life out of them for less ££.

    Whats ur top speed?

Shame I have an early 200 then :D

    Whats ur top speed?

Didn't come with them from the factory in the first place.

    Whats ur top speed?

The issue is more how safe it is to do those speeds in a lot of Defenders, they're not meant for it tbh. Not taken mine very far since I put in a 1.2 transfer case but I'm sure it'll keep pulling strong past 90 if I were to try, used to sit at 70 and above no worries (apart from noise) with the...

    lt77 gear box

I presume you want to do so because of worn splines? Output shaft is part of the mainshaft so requires a strip down of the gears, synchro hubs and bearings. This might help. Rebuild of the LT77 Gearbox - Defender Forum - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

    Clutch slave cylinder shims

I think the pedal is mostly adjusted up right, 140mm pedal height floor to bottom edge (possibly 5mm too high) with a bit under a cm of free play, play in the assembly made it a little hard to precisely measure the free play between the pedal and pushrod but it has at least the 1.5mm I think...

    Clutch slave cylinder shims

My clutch pedal assembly is quite sloppy in the pivots and I wanted to tighten up some of the free play in it which I did, it now has a small about of free travel (about the required amount) but the bite point is very high. It always has been, had a new clutch this time last year but removing...

    defender egsause performance back box

I looked for one when I had to replace my back box a few months ago but couldn't find anything. Either has to be adapted or custom made it seems, nothing off the shelf.

    Oil int turbo pipe

If there is just a film or general light coating I wouldn't worry, plus being in the intake pipe it's more likely to be coming from the cyclone breather pipe which is common too. Mine is like this, keep meaning to fit an oil catch tank but haven't got around to it yet.

    LT77 gearbox backlash

Below the filler plug next to the ratio sticker usually, for very early boxes it can be found on the side of the box to the left of the fill plug.

    LT77 gearbox backlash

As far as I know there should never be any backlash in the actual gearbox - all the gears are in constant mesh and everything gets well oiled, if oil level is neglected then you'll soon know about it when trying to change gear before any wear occurs to the gears. Rear prop - did you take the...

    Today in Chelmsford

Jumped the lights apparently and caught by bus coming across. Drove past later in day but had been taken away. Bet she won't cut it close with lights again. (Yes, I believe it was a woman, not discriminating honest!).

    Transfer Box Swap

Cheers James, another quick question - am just going over new box getting it ready for when it goes in but can't get the speedo drive gear out. Am I correct in thinking this needs to be swapped with the one in my current 1.410 transfer case? I've tried levering it with a screwdriver but it seems...

    Transfer Box Swap

Just bought a new transfer box from a 300TDi disco for the 90, as the current one is clunking and leaking from every seal, plus I fancied the 1.2 gearing. Box seems good, little backlash, diff lock works nicely and it has a cross-drilled input gear and spotless splines, covered approx 110K...

    General faults on first Hippo

Thanks for the advice guys - has anyone got any ideas on the tailgate window problem? Glass up, button thinks its down, cable has snapped and wound half of itself into the motor while the other half looks to be jamming up the regulators and is holding the window up. What's the best way to get...

    General faults on first Hippo

The missus bought a Hippo. :D I am to say - very surprised at how much I like it. It's even got me second-guessing the 'Fender. It's a 2001 TD4 commercial, seems to have been looked after well and runs really nicely. Got a few bits and pieces I've picked up on the last few days looking...
