im in dublin just picked up a 97 2.5 p38 after lots of fun in a freelander

i had the prop off my one a few weeks back waiting for a new vcu and the small saveing in fuel was just not worth the sick handling you will eat trough front tyres from wheel spin and under steer it just not worth it

that what im trying to do at the moment :confused:

Yep that's the job seen one before on the web were the lad had fitted the winch behind the bumper so you only seen the rollers can't find it now

did anybody ever get one fitted to a freelander have looked into this a few times never got around to it yet

you could try ring land rover with this bulletin number and see how far you get but you will have to push them but you will need service history

we have a 2002 1.8 no major prob's yet ;) just check out the vcu carefully and you should be fine after that, ignore the lads in the bigger land rovers they just dont like getting towed out of the muddy stuf by a FREELANDER :D:D

They changed from Gray to black trim half way trough the 02 build

Ha ha love it I have done that a few times where lads in td5 discos with t/c have got stuck and I have got trough in the Freelander mine is a 1.8 with no t/c or hill decent I have only got a/t tyres on her and I have never been stuck

I use the Freelander for a bit of off road fun with a local club and I have been able to keep up with the discos r/r and defenders in the soft mud they are a very able landy. But would never have standard road tyres on I am on mud tyres at the moment they are not too bad on Tarmac eithe

Have a small prob with the Freelander the srs light dose not come on at all like somebody has removed the bulb, so I removed the clock pack and can only see the back light bulbs took the cover off and there is just a printed bord no bulbs that I could see might be LEDs in there, and yes I did...

ye it feels like its not going fully into gear, time to get the tools out me thinks

i dont mind pulling the box out the clutch could do with changing soon so was going to do the box and clutch together

hi all have an 02 1.8 freelander with a small prob, she keeps jumping out of reverse gear when you put a bit bo load on the gearbox eg.. turning on full lock or trying to push her up a small hill in reverse, it will jump out of gear and grind all, other gears are fine, is there any ajustment on...

i just got one for my 02 freelader but i got one for the later freelader vin 3a99999 on ad it was olny 35 euros from main land rover dealer same belt but in black just fitted it today and looks fine
