Its more of a fiddle rather than difficult. Take carefull note of how the origional is routed. Take a photo if you can to refer to, you will think your doing it wrong as the cable is really tight.

First check would be the wires to the HDC on the gear lever.

If your VCU is suspect you need to change it now if not leave it till it is. So long as you have more tread on the rear there should be no problem. Another panic buy? Take it down the lanes it will probably do the VCU good, use it or lose it.

Rear prop UJ's have always been available, where it meets the diff. Mine only squeeled turning right dropping on a slight incline onto my lane. Took in off and it was seized on two of the bearings.

Can't believe some one would ask if they can run an almost new AT and a worn road tyre on the same axle, never mind on the same car.

Martyn, if you have no symptoms, not trying to stop on full lock, no tyre skipping, no odd tyre wear then stop worrying about it. Its not a service item.

I would recommend it as an annual treatment anyway. I have now started adding Millers when topping up and think the difference is well worth it. Bg244 might sound expensive but its a one off, Millers at £10 for around 5000 miles is negligable.

You never said how much tread you have. If they have been run at 36 PSI for a long time the tread wear across the tyres may be uneven as they were over inflated. Think about the more obvious causes before going down the nightmare route of bearings, VCU, IRD. In particular if the speed at which...
