    mystery mid rpm misfire

Hopefully kev or someone else wise will pick it up and answer but i'm guessing about 700 rpm? i Havent got an rpm meter i can use at the mo. i agree it is still a touch low, it was a tad higher while i set the base idle, as soon as i put the vac pipe to the stepper motor back on the revs dropped...

    mystery mid rpm misfire

I'm still alive.. :D Well, it's driving better than it has done for a long time, hard to tell if it will play up when really hot again for now but idling between 2nd and 3rd lines on rev counter now, pulls well and no sign of a misfire as yet! It's still a mystery though as i have no idea...

errrm, :o it was til i started doing the basingstoke lanes :o It's well solid and polishes up pretty well but i do like to enjoy it's off road abilities :) After i'd rebuilt it i was considering blowing a new coat of colour over it as some of the panels didn't quite match as they had come...

I know what you mean, despite my numptyness with electrics i'm good with a spanner, i've seen people try to time engines up 180 degrees out before ;) i timed it up before removal so it's definately still in the right place. probably one of the other million things i've fiddled with that's the...

Moved it? i've had it out and thrown it round the bloody workshop at least twice :D had to whip it out to put the new ignition amp on the other day. I can't get over there til later, got my ickle boy til lunch time, if i take him over there my spanners will be everywhere! if i can get it to...

i thought your coil was bosch? my new leads are bosch from halfrauds, about £35, only as i needed them on a sunday but they must be ok as they genuinely don't arc anywhere :-) maybe my coil is so useless it's not generating enough energy to arc like yours? lol..

    Stupid question

I agree with above ^ assuming you mean nearside (passenger) front inner wing theres nothing between the two originally... Has your car got lpg? it's a usual place to site the lpg vapouriser?

No, still the old coil in place, i did try to get one the other day but couldn't get hold of one. It's not the original one, looks like it's already been changed at some point but for the money i may as well replace it, when i have some money. lol.. alternator done and ready to get back on...

I've never had trouble with the leads arcing :) til now.... i put some ****y silicone leads from paddocks on it a couple of years ago, only time they arced was when i went bonnet deep in mud over salisbury plain :D I changed em at the start of this problem as for some reason it had starting...

Yeh, funny, i thought of you when the bitch wouldn't start :p You'd think it would appriciate being spoiled with lots of new bits  putting the new bits in the alternator tonight then i'll try and get back over to it and have another go. The dodgy starting is something it did about 3...

    mystery mid rpm misfire

Right, i was being a bit dense.. But! the ****er won't run now  flattened the battery trying to start it, if it doesn't fire pretty much straight away she floods big time. i had to whip the plugs out, clean up and put em back in. Got it to start now but not well enough to idle :o How...

    mystery mid rpm misfire

Agreed, if i had the dosh i would have got a mallory etc in there by now but the bloody thing keeps costing too much to save the funds  I'm doing an all nighter in the shed to get to the bottom of it, someone just told me it could be the ecu.. She's only rust free as i spent 9 months...

Yeh from afm to pleniun pipe, try lr series or craddocks for online prices first. Leccys are well outside my understanding too :o i'm guessing i've got some shorts to earth somewhere? Not sure what to do apart from start pulling looms apart! I suppose i could just put up with the misfire and...
