I was thinking, if the DSEs have a 2.5 straight six bmw engine, for a bit more oomph couldn't you put a 3.0 bmw str8 6 in?

hi - It's only on the change from 3 to 4, seems to do it for about 20 mins, and after that its fine, even if its been warmed up driving through country lanes for half an hour etc. When i first noticed it took her into the workshop and changed al the oils, old oils still looked alright though...

Looking back on it I very stupidly sold my TD5 90 when a damaged 03 disco came up for a good price, thought i might have a go at it. Found it uses tanker loads of diesel and I just can't wait to sell her and buy another Defender (much better around the farm too) But this one takes bloody ages to...

:D hehe finally whipped her round to the barn and stripped her a bit and found one of the UJs on the propshaft seemed to be knackered, got another chassis tucked away so purged it and now seems to be fine! Thanks for the advice guys.

Cheched propshafts etc and all tightened (little lose) though still vibrating. Talked to a specialist and said it sounded like a flywheel damper so might have to get that checked out

Hi- Checked wheel bearings this morning and all was fine. Seems to happen over 30mph when accellerating, but its fine when keeping speed at a constant :confused:

On the way to shopw this morning the whole car started vibrating quite violently whenever i take her at over around 30mph. Recent engine oil and axle was drained etc etc though definitely refilled. Anyone got any ideas as to what this could be? Cheers

I bought a 1985 90 a few years back and the previous owner fitted recaro full leather seats - most comfortable i've ever been in a landy!!

Very nice car Tiff - unfortunately I'm a farmer who's just parted with some cash for a new tractor so a bit out of my league. Need a bit more comfort than my TD5 90 (though a long time lover of Defenders) and only looking to spend tops of 8K, seen a few on eBay (keen ebayer) around the 7k mark...
