Started fitting tread plate to the bonnet today, got the bonnet and N/S wing done. But the O/s wing is too high for the tread plate to fit under the bonnet so will have to loose the wing and push it down before i can fit the tead plate to that side. Here's a pic of how it looks, getting near...

I fitted some more cosmetic pieces today. I have the tread plate bug! :rolleyes: Fitted black kick plates to the bottom of the tub and front wing. Then shiny side steps

no idea on the make of the intercooler, sorry, they are on Ebay for around £130, i got mine second hand but unused for £60.

Hi Thanks. Airfilter housing?? There isn't one at the moment! I've just got a little cone filter on for now, you can see it between the intercooler pipes if you look at the engine bay picture. some time later i will improve the airfilter and intake system, but the cone filter will do for now.

None I shouldn't think. I shall change my front diff oil to EP 90 and give the parts man a piece of my mind! Tell me then whats the difference between the transfer and gearbox?

300TDI will have better mpg and power in standard form. Daihatsu will be far more reliable and with a bit of tweaking produce good power too imo.

What should it be then? EP90? The Landrover dealership recommended and sold it to me and autodata says to use the same oil? I put EP90 in the rear diff and transfer box. ATF in the gearbox and front diff.

Replaced the oil+filter, both diff oils and transfer box oil. I've put ATF in the front diff, What do people think of that??

Thanks guys for your comments. :) Well engine conversion is now complete other than a cambelt change and new fuel filter which i will be doing shortly, and maybe tidy the wiring up a little.

Well job done! No real issues as you can see through the thread. I'll let you know what it drives like and MPG soon.

I havn't driven it yet. Starts on the button and revs well with no smoke. Cant wait to finish it and get out on the road, or off road for that matter. :)

a 15mm drill bit and a M16x1 tap 2.5TD coolant temp. sensor now fits into the daihatsu thermostat housing :) Temp gauge issue now sorted!
