    Tyre pressure solution

Ran my 235's at 38psi with a FULL load all the way to the Czech Republic and back, got good fuel consumption and the ride wasn't TOO bumpy! Mostly motorway driving, and the inside lanes were full of HGV tyre ruts (which made for some interesting wheel pulls!), so I tried to keep to the...

Those push-in popper thingies for panel retention?

Hi Slob, Back from me trip abroad (nice drive BTW). Got to LR Ascot this morning, the ones they have are the wrong type and there is nothing more they can do . I don't know if you can see it in my piccy, but the ones from the panel have a rectangular end (the business end) and the...

Mudflap panel fit on my 300tdi

Hi all, Well, just returned from my driving trip across to the Czech Republic, what a breeze! :) Whilst I was there, I took a bit of time out to fit a new l/h rear mudflap and panel set. The panel had rusted through quite badly, and the old mudflap had fallen away many moons ago. All was...

    On the verge of tears

Did you not read my bit in the post about a bypass plug? And remember, that the engine will not immobilise when it is running, only when you try to gain 'unlawful entry', which it thinks you are trying to do when the fault reappears (when the electrical contact on the spider is separated, due to...

    On the verge of tears

As I see it, this is an INTERMITTENT fault, the fault comes and goes, therefore, if your central locking is working, of course you WILL be able to start the car, if the central locking ISN'T working, then that means the fault has reappeared and of course then you WON'T be able to start your car...

    On the verge of tears

What did they 'change with two different new ones'? Is your fob a 1 button or 2 button type? I am not sure if LR do them for the Disco 1, but ask an LR Dealer for a 'bypass plug'. I believe it bypasses the ECU/Immobiliser, and it costs about £15 from LR. Some LR Dealers have heard of them...

    On the verge of tears

Where abouts are you? Give Jamesons a call on 0121 333 3556, they know about this sort of thing. If you'r nowhere near them, they might be able to point out a fix. I have found and listed a number of possible causes, but having read my post before sending it, I think your fault is possibly the...

    Discovery 300 tdi service

Where are you based Squint? Other members may be able to point you out to an independent LR specialist that they know and worship the ground that they walk on! :p

    Tyre pressure solution

Southern Spain is a tad different than central Europe in the middle of winter! :( I think I'll compromise and put 36 in front and rear. Kids on board and all that........

Rear mudflap and mounting panel fit

I used to be the same with the 'arrier (but I knew some that weren't ).

Those push-in popper thingies for panel retention?

Cheers, I think I have the P/No for the correct part now (MXC3130PUB). I'm checking with LR now (when I can get through; must be lunchtime!) and will let you know.

Those push-in popper thingies for panel retention?

Halfords don't do 'em. Fat lot of good they are. Off to try Motolec at lunchtime.

    Tyre pressure solution

Slob, which part of my post did you not understand? Perhaps you need to read it again. ;) I understand that with higher TP's, the tyre centre line will often be the only contacting point with the road surface. However, it stands to reason that with added vehicle weight, more of the tyre width...

    Tyre pressure solution

There's a flwa there somewhere. :D What if you have a full load? 4 people in the seats and a full boot? Would 36 psi all round then see better tyre contact with the road surface? I ask because I'll be in that situation this Friday, driving across to the Czech Republic with a full load, and...

Those push-in popper thingies for panel retention?

Here you go, this one is grey, but the other one I had (that popped into the next dimension) was black. Ormus found the real name for these, christmas tree clips, fir tree buttons, so at least I have a way of aptly describing them now!

Rear mudflap and mounting panel fit

£43 for the whole caboodle (includes L/H & R/H flaps), but that includes £10 quick delivery charge. I think normal delivery would be £5. I'm probably going to do it when I get to the Czech Republic, too much to do before I go. I'm back on the 29th, so will let you know then.

Rear mudflap and mounting panel fit

I coulda done that in 2 hours! Need some brake pads for it? We got some old asbestos type in our quarantine bay, only 25 years old, should do the job, just don't tell your LAA!

Those push-in popper thingies for panel retention?

No piccy tonight, and it'll probably be too late tomorrow, knowing the PO delays at this time of year! The head of the popper is about 8mm in diameter, and the length is about 12mm. The shank of mthe popper has that kind of 'barbed' appearance, so that it locks into place once fitted. And...

Those push-in popper thingies for panel retention?

Yeah, thought of that, but I'm leaving Friday morning 1st thing for the Czech Republic, and I don't think I'll have the time to go to a scrapyard. Plus the closest one is t'other side of Wokingham, too far to go unless its a weekend! I'll try a motor factors if Halfords don't do 'em. If no...
