Why is it when doi g these jobs you just find more problems? The upright between the two floors is shot and the cross member look like it could use a patch. So I think I will just poprivet the c post on so I can whip it of when I fix all the rest.

I started taking bits off to ease the replacement, when under the sill I found this. There is t one on the other side and I can't see what it does. looks to have sheared off at some point. could it be a mount for rock sliders?

All fixed, new one and bolts for £32 and I got it on in the daylight. Maiden trip to Rogers of Bedford don't think it will be the last. Especially after closer inspection of my bushes :eek: Any advice on replacing them?

Thanks jai. Once I'm back on the road, if I can last more than a week, I'd like to get out some more. Bit worried about my noob level land rover skills. Disco your right it was already fractured. Infact 90% of the material was split from both sides leaving a tiny strip holding on in the middle.

Some how I managed to brake the tie bar on the steering box whilst doing a three point turn to get out of the work car park. I didn't think much of the clunk at the time but a hundred yards down the road it felt like I had square wheels. I guess the axle was shaking around cos it was insane...

So first drive this morning just warm the oil up. Everything seemed ok, but I'm no expert. Perhaps a little less power :s Once the warm I planned to Change the gearbox oil. On taking out the second drain plug, the first dropped in the bucket :mad:, I found this. is this to be expected or...
