    Good morning from new member

    Welcome. :)

    polybushes

I think having been retracked is most likely. I’ve recently done a 2 inch lift and the new rod length required was literally only 10 mils longer than standard. Wouldn’t have thought you could buy them in such incremental amounts. Might be wrong though.

Hmm, just wondering about that - If your vehicle has a standard Panhard rod, as the original springs sagged theoretically the axle should have moved out of kilter slightly. When you fitted new standard springs and effectively ‘lifted’ it back to original ride height I would have thought that...

    Range Rover Auto Electrician

That man is fashioning a makeshift rear trailing arm for a Disco 1 from a gazelle horn. When he’s finished you’d hardly tell the difference!

    Anybody we know?

Is there anything similar dedicated to the D1?

    Series 3 Kill switch

That comes back to where you park it. No one is going to ‘sneak’ up with a crane capable of lifting a Landy! You could add to the previous list - if the vehicle is going to be left somewhere with no occupancy nearby, find a temporary place that has. I’m just off to sink a 5 ton shackle...

    Hello from the West Country

Hello, welcome. Three Brit vehicles? A glutton for punishment then....lolol

    Series 3 Kill switch

Just make sure to use a high quality switch, soldered as opposed to crimped connections, route the cable(s) where they cannot be subjected to physical or heat damage and position the switch where there is no chance of it being accidentally activated.

    polybushes

Aye Up, If your truck has recently been lifted and is not already fitted with an adjustable Panhard rod you will need to consider this in order to realign the front axle laterally. Whether or not, be aware that replacing the original bushes with poly might prove a challenge as the locating...

    Series 3 Kill switch

Deter, deflect, delay. Have visual security (on the vehicle) - make them realise that theft might not be straight forward; Have visual security where you park it - under a (high) PIR is good - crims don’t want to be seen; (and it can alert you to presence/interest being shown); Have...

    G’day, Welcome back

    Hello ...and a rust question

No pal, not after the longest answer award, just helping a new bloke out who I noticed hadn’t had a response for the best part of 7 hours. Maybe you should open your eyes before your mouth.

    Hello ...and a rust question

Aye Up, It is most likely that the chassis nearer to the front is less affected by rust than the rear, shed oil from the engine and transmission, plus heat from those sources plus the exhaust drying things out quickly. Towards the rear less oil shed/heat plus water thrown backwards under the...

    Hello ...and a rust question

Aye Up, Welcome Lentilist. I think that protocol on here is to introduce and write a little about yourself in the intro section first. Re your question, it is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string because what you are going to do with the vehicle between now and the time that you...

    ARB with 2inch lift Question?

Aye Up, Thinking about the MOT issue covered on here a few times but more so on/off road handling - Has/does anyone run the system; is it feasible? 2 inch lift on HD springs, +2 inch shocks, Maintained the (lowered) anti roll bars (for on road handling), but then removes the large bolt...

    Rimmer/EBC Disc Brake Upgrade?

Aye Up, Useful info. Yes I was surprised that there was no one on here coming back having fitted one of these EBC kits - perhaps the price of the best part of 300 quid has something to do with it, although it doesn’t stop people forking out similar for such as bumpers. Could it also be the...

    The new defender!

Ive sometimes wondered if the continual replacement of all things mechanical with electronics might be what leads to the eventual demise of mankind? Consider - a sun flare like the one which caused issues with the national grid in Canada knocks down all power supply which knocks down production...

    The new defender!

Aye Up, I agree the new Defender looks like a stubby Freelander. The military had already turned their backs on LR - the Gulf Wars saw to that. With all the electronics on the new Defender perhaps EMP could be a quick killer. For that matter, how long before someone hacks a dealership and...
