I replaced my regulator yesterday - Hope this helps....

I had the same today. Although mine had a torx, it would not move so I took the whole threaded bar out and inserted a couple of washers between the inner door skin and the regulator - Put the screws back in and it had tilted the regulator back far enough for the glass to clear the top trim...

Stripped down a 5 door tailgate from a 2000 model to get at the window regulator. Next step is to make it fit into my 54 reg 3 door. Well they look the same.......and it's given me plenty to sell on eBay.

Really could do with a bit of help here. I have the chance to buy a year 2000 5 door tailgate to replace my damaged one, but I have a facelift 3 door. I am thinking that I can change the outside bottom trim over, which I am fairly sure is the only difference??? Am I gonna waste my money and...

Many thanks for the info. I have never been that confident with the spanners, but it is very satisfying to be working on the FL1 and saving money by not using garages. I will check both sides for play in the joints at the same time as doing the links.

Have searched and found info on changing the drop links, which looks fairly straight forward, so gonna have a play with that tomorrow........Would somebody be kind enough to advise what the other arm attached to the suspension leg is and is difficult to replace? Might as well go the whole hog.

Ian - In taking the facelift hazard switch apart to identify the bulb, can you now put it back together again or is it a sealed unit and do you destroy it in the process of taking it apart?

Started to replace the rear shoes and hubs, but the hub on this side won't shift! The other side slid off without any trouble. Now getting dark, so there it will stay until I can work out how to sort it without the use of a club hammer:rolleyes:
