Thats a really nice idea but I ideally wanted it to come on with my main beam but also to be able to come on by a switch and also off with a switch so a three way switch in the cab and also tapping into the main beam. Hmm.

Thanks, how long has the lift kit been on the vehicle? Also do the rock sliders bolt to the sills or bolt to the side step brackets. Snorkel is that 300tdi non abs?

That should get it through the mot in the UK as well as the boot floor isn't structural the side pieces aren't next to a body mount or seat belt mount so should go through. Do you have a picture of the side and boot floor join please?

How did you weld it in place, did you cut a straight line down the old one and butt weld it together or did you cut the rot out put the channel on top of what's left of the existing one and weld it on top?

Removing the body mounts from the sills was enough to put me off rusty bolts lol. If only I had a reciprocating saw!

West midlands yes. Also ivd done a fair bit of welding, boxing my sills etc so I have a go at anything but I'd rather pay somebody who's done a few than wrestle with rusty bolts and take ages.

Thats only small you should be happy! Cut it out patch from the inside use a portable heater plug it in inside your car to keep you warm, jobs a good un!
