So the r380 gearbox wouldnt fit in that defender without modification?

Hi guys how do you remove the glass from the sun roof and could it be done fast as and when needed to shoot out the hole? I can see the 4 black caps but don't know how to remove them and if I can replace them with an Allen key bolt and rubber washer to keep the sun roofs watertight and easy...

So the engine will need some modified mounts and the gearbox won't go straight in is it easy enough to do though? I like the sound that the floor etc is ally so won't rot or require welding. What are the common areas that will require welding other than chassis and bulk head?

Hi guys, I have a disco now which needs a hell of a lot doing and will probably be scrapped the end of the year when the mot runs out. A long list of welding is needed. Ive been thinking however to buy a defender 90 without the engine etc in it and transfer my 300 tdi to it etc. I wondered...

It should be white if its not too dirty, Some contact cleaner on it and where it clips to should do the trick. The same if its acting erratic and the needle is bouncing up and down.

I really don't have the money to throw at another one. Id love a defender but they are expensive and not as comfortable as the disco which is why I bought it. I love it to bits but id need a small mortgage to fix it lol.

Is the defender body easier to repair? I love my land rover just not the hassle involves. Been looking at changing to something a bit more reliable but nothing beats a land rover off road :(

Hi got my car through the mot both sills have been box sectioned and new body mounts. Rear cross member patched but could do with replacing in the next couple of years as there is rust in the middle that I cant get to but will hold for now. In the meantime, both sun roofs leaking, rear one...

I don't know and know I cant sell it because ive spent too much fixing it.

The disco sunroof isn't big enough and obviously doesn't go back far enough. Ill see if I can find a large sunroof from like a forester they are rather large and slide back don't they. Hmm.

Hi guys, I use my Land Rover for shooting and have decided now I have the rear seats out welding the boot floor id like to install a high seat and cut a hole in the roof of the car to shoot from. Any idea what's best to seal the hatch with when not in use and if anybody has done it some advice...

Has anyone else had parts delivered? I only paid a fiver for some standard wheel nuts but not received no contact text the guy and no reply. Strange.

I was thinking that If I could put something underneath. I don't have a fire blanket but I have some MDF board I could maybe slide underneath and be careful I don't set that on fire but at least it protects the tank. So should it be ok if im careful?

300 tdi boot floor needs patching, going to try keep the floor for a while as most of it seems solid it seems to be under the back seats by the arches Id say the water must flick up under there when driving or a leaky sunroof or something. See attached pic of the damage area the same on both...

Yeh that's it laying and welding from the top. I suppose that's true though that unless it was undersealed it would cause more rot quickly. I will probably best fitting the metal in the holes and sealing it round.
