New to Landy Zone, need advise

nowt to do with me really but if i was only using one for weekends I'd go for the v8 as well because they seem to sell for a lot less money in the autotrader than diesels do (and the Range Rovers do as well for that matter ) just take someone with you who really knows them...

The top of the auto box, the selector stalk and where the p-n-d-3-2-1 plate is, is getting really hot..Why would that happen?

    in search of power

well Theres a yard in Bradford beside Simonites where I got the turbo off a p reg discovery and the labour cost for the job of taking off the old unit putting on the new unit changing the oil and oil filter came to about £120 so with £125 for th e turbo got the power back...

To buy or not to buy?

hmmmm Dave sheds buckets full of tears ...... Diesel is costing me 96p per litre and the 300dti is doing about 23 mpg on average..ok it s got a faulty turbo which I hopeto have resolved by Tuesday but if I had bought a v8 with GAS CONVERSION it would have cost me less to buy...

    in search of power

Nothing to do with extra power, I just need the discovery to work normally and it has no power at all. Pulls like a dead cart horse. Having had feedback from people on here I took it for a service 100 quid blown for no result. Took it to a landrover "specialists" garage, lots of...

    dad its rolling backwards.....

It goes from bad to worse; Just discovered..hmm bad choice of phrase, that the m.o.t was done by a blind pixie with a hangover, it has seized brake calipers, the horn wasnt even wired up and the rear discs are red rusty inboard. The water pump has just started to chirp, the turbo is...

Where is all the oil coming from?

Just drove my mates Discovery which is a year newer than mine, in comparison mine feels like an old 1960's vintage bedford lorry. It has no acceleration, the pedal feels like it has a 40lb spring pushing it up and it feels like it is running on solid rubber wheels..... His feels...

Where is all the oil coming from?

When my discovery starts you can hear what I assume to be the Turbo whistleing, (1994 es 300tdi ). As you (slowly) accelerate so does the whistle. Then when you check under the bonnet guess what? Oil... sprayed everywhere. It seems to have flooded the pipes to the intercooler covered the entire...

Well the intercooler top hose was split but even fixing that didnt cure the lack of power. The rear brake calipers were seized.. yes on both sides however they were off not on... (so much for having a one month old MOT) There is oil leaking from the turbo area but that was...

    Hiclone air intake thingy

The point of the gizmo is that it makes the air flow better and as a result allows more air that is colder air to flow more freely and as a result the engine burns the fuel more efficiently. I have no first hand experience of fitting them but those who I have spoken to all say there is a...

    Ban all 4x4's

My view is that we tend to drive slower, can see over the other traffic and thus have better road awareness, can spot problems sooner and are by far easier to spot coming. If you look at accident statistics 4x4 vehicles are well down on the list and the boy racers are way up. Not many...
