LZ at the Barf & West

Shopping delivered and now back home! The show itself was slightly underwhelming but it looks as though the LZ rabble are having a good time and it was good to meet the few people who were around when I got there!

    300tdi struggling to pass 70mph

70mph in a 300tdi 90?! How long do you think it would take you to stop if you did hit 70mph? Not something I'd like to try. 55 - 60 is plenty for mine!

I reckon LZ courier service could shift the entire bakery if requested!

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

Agreed. For all of the p!ss taking and banter, there are an amazing bunch of people here! My shock bushes are ok because I replaced them a few months ago, but thanks for the offer! :D

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

I like this garage. They have always been very honest with me, I get a discount on labour and it's walking distance from my office. The closest alternatives are around 20 mins away, which is not practical. But point taken on pulling myself together....

    Cheap online parts

Used them for pretty much everything on my rebuild. They offer trade membership for £25, which then entitles you to a 5% discount on all orders. Saved me a small fortune, so definitely worth considering if you're planning to order a lot of parts from them.

Booked in for my new crossmember

:hysterically_laughi Aww go on, make me a roll cage! I know someone who will make me one out of scaffolding poles, and he said he can do it all for £10, so please can you do it for cheaper than that? ;)

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

This is definitely starting to sound like the problem and would explain why SO much oil is pouring out. I will relay this to the garage, but I guess it's a gearbox out job anyway...

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

Bloody hell, they are cheap, thanks! Considering the small fortune that has gone into the engine, this not sounding all that bad!

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

That would actually make a lot of sense, because the T seals look ok to me and I made a real effort to check and double check them. I had assumed that the oil seal would cause a leak into the bell housing, but it seems to be more likely than T seals. Well I'm definitely not dropping the...

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

Right, ok, deep breath... I think I'm going to sleep on it and assess my options in the morning. At the moment I'm leaning towards getting the garage to do only what is necessary for the MOT and then slowly doing the rest myself, but after a busy day at work, my brain isn't engaged enough...

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

Just a thought. Does the gearbox, flywheel etc HAVE to come out before the T Seals can be replaced? I can't for the life of me remember if anything bolts into the main bearing end cap...?

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

    don't say that!

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

Yes. I even spent a bit more for one from Turners, so I'm hopeful that that's ok!

Depressing news from the garage - What to do?

Bell housing oil leak is definitely a failure, because of the seriousness of the leak. So: T Seals Clutch Master Cylinder (again!) Brake line Suspension bushes Doesn't seem so bad when it's listed like that.
