Numpty of the week contender - Petrol into diesel RR

All's well that ends well, 1400 miles to France and back. Cheers for all the support ( ...and otherwise :) ) Indicated 30mpg, at least till I knew I was late for the boat and had to go ton up! Kept a record so will work it all out when I've sobered up from all the cheap rouge I brought...

Numpty of the week contender - Petrol into diesel RR

Might be as well getting the train....! Few miles under the belt, few coughs and splutters and a bit tough on start up but hopefully no major harm done (repeatedly touching the wooden floor) Seems to have cleared up the amount of black smoke I produce on throttle, tho slightly down on power.

Numpty of the week contender - Petrol into diesel RR

Nice one, will have a go at it this afternoon to practice. Might bring more than a few spanners at this rate.

Stirring up gunk from the bottom of the tank... oh joy. Almost exactly 24 hours before I head off to France with it.....! Cheers for the 2-stroke oil tip.

Numpty of the week contender - Petrol into diesel RR

Don't know what I was at... threw 20 quid in cos was in a rush, got 4 miles down the road and engine cut out. Had terrible thoughts about hot starting issues but then dawned on me what I had just done. Luckily was 50 yards from a petrol station, threw a load of diesel in, got a can of...

    Front end tarting up

Had a quick look initially a few weeks ago when I took off the nudge bar, seemed like access to the bolts was a bit of a mare so thought maybe cutting was the best option. Must revisit this tho. Pleased how it's looking so far, amazing what a bucket of water can do. Only have 50 miles done...

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/290770710453?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Took this off my 95 Range Rover. Not in excellent condition but seems to be structurally sound. Small rip in rubber but nothing major. Brackets not included. Might suit green laner etc. Low start price...

    Front end tarting up

Had a few hours and some facelift indicators to fit so took off the faded grey grill and masked up the headlights too. Painted on some high build primer, let it dry overnight. Out with the sand paper (not half enough, but that's a job for another day) and sprayed on the gloss black. Not happy...

    Yet More Newbie Questions

If you want something that's going to work in the snow surely snow specific tyres are a must, proper tyres would make much more of a difference than type of 4x4 you have.

    Centre cubby front trim piece

I think there's a glob of adhesive just above the temp sensor they apply in the factory. In the exact same position in both.

    Centre cubby front trim piece

Bit of a bum steer there, pulled the panel (reasonably hard) and heard a snap. On closer inspection there is some sort of T-shaped plastic tang at the back that holds it in place which I've now snapped. No biggie, bit of silicone and it'll be fine. For anyone else I'd suggest taking off the...

    Centre cubby front trim piece

Just the very front facia section of part 4, the inch wide strip that extends from underneath the clock to the far side of the cubby hole. It's missing on my own one so it clearly comes off but don't want to be ham fisted about pulling it off.
