Telling me I've got fuel or coolant in my oil seems pretty valuable to me. Maybe you need a laboratory in your glovebox:p

I dont know exactly, there are alot of different grade filter papers around. And, its £12.95. If it was massive money I might search around, but its in a nice tin and there is email support if you get a result you are not sure about.

No its a valid point. I'd guess that @ £12.95 its a no brainer if when going to view a vehicle it saves buying a vehicle thats ****ed even if you only use it once and it picks up on a head gasket issue (water/coolant in oil), or fuel in oil (injector issue etc), but I suppose testing your own...

You get 26 tests in a box for £12.95, so 50p per test. The point I suppose is it will pick up on water, coolant or fuel in the oil etc so might stop someone buying a ****ed motor or pick up on any issues with a motor currently owned. If I was going to buy a vehicle this simple test might...

Surely your insurance should pick up that tab and if your excess is £500 it would make sense to let the insurers carry out the repair, and new ignition, plus the fact you dont know what other damage has been done, it would probably end up being cheaper? What area was this in?

Land Rover should be accountable for this stuff. Its just shoddy build quality and a fault caused by their cable routing/lack of shielding. Guess I have all this stuff to look forward to at some point lol
