Both lighters are fed via fuse B4.Have you checked the possibility of a bad earth, or indeed loose or even a disconnection to tha dash one.Try swapping them over ,and whilst the other one is out test it independantly It may wll be that the lighter itself is u/s.It can and does happen.

I can only assume that a previous owner has at some time disconnected the feed to the dash lighter and used the power supply for an alternative use.The feed on mine is from the ignition and is illuminated from the light switch.Power being fed direct from B4 .W in to B4 then G out to cig...

Have you got power to the other cigarette lighter? and have a look at fuse B4. Hope this helps.

I don't know what you mean by off road filters ? However I run a V8 in my series 2A with K and N filters using standard needles as designated for use with the SU carbs fitted.
