    Rivnuts

They should come with the boards as a kit, all you'll need it a rivit gun to fit 'em !!

    Mitchellin or Pirelli?

Yep, def Michelin for long life, but if you venture into the goo, I'd go for the Pirelli's (slightly better off road than Michelin's)

    TD5 Misfire

Trust - now there's an interesting word . . . . . not usally applicable to LR dealers (I know, I know, some are VERY reputable) But based on my experience of 3 local to where I leave, there deserve the title Main STEALERS !!!

    100k Discos

Remapping can ONLY cause more wear, based on more stress and strain within the engine (the re-mapping companies won't tell you that though) Put simply how many miles will an F1 car do . . answer about 500 before a complete engine rebuild)
  12. disco_steve

    Why won't it start

Don't think that would prevent starting . . but you never know yer luck !!
  13. disco_steve

    Which engine

The X trail has abigger boot than a Freelander (surely ?) X Trails are ok, typical slitty reliability, but it is a VERY soft off roader ;)

    100k Discos

"A Disco is for life, not just for Christmas" Having owned one for almost 4 years now, and having driven LR's since I was 17 . . . I can't see myself ever going back to a car again . . . some LR's are still going strong after 40-50 years, so I'm sure I'll find one, and the next one and so one...

    Experience of 100,000 miles in a Disco2 TD5

Years ago, diesels would easily run on and on, clocking 500k plus, in fact the record for a diesel car (a Mercedes) is 4.6 MILLION kms (that's a staggering 2.8 million miles, not the same engine, but the owner (a greek taxi driver has two which he alternates every 500k) so it's still pretty...

    100k Discos

Mine does that also, has done for last 20k or so, no better, no worse  Seems to be a common TD5 Disco problem. It has all the symptoms of oil contamination, which is slightly worrying, although I did read a thread that talked about possible clutch fluid leaking onto the plate . ...
