check your prop shafts for play in the joints (sideways movement, not turning movement)

94L 200Tdi 150k miles - from about 1800 - 2500 rpm the turbo gives a nice boost to power. At about 2500 it drops off noticeably but I can still hear the turbo working and still get reasonable power up to about 3000 rpm when I guess the turbo drops out. Is this normal? Air and fuel filters...

200Tdi sump capacity is 6.9 litres (including oil filter), according to the haynes manual. Sounds about right, I did mine a few months ago.

Don't open the rear door. All discos I've opened the rear door on do this (my disco1 and 2 people I know with disco2s). Something to do with the door holding itself open at one or two points as you open it.

Got anywhere with this fox? As James suggests, first thing is to check if you can move with diff lock on. With no diff lock, if something's wrong in one of the axles I think the attached prop shaft will turn when in gear but you won't move. That's why you need diff lock, it will make both...

Hello. I drove fast through a big puddle today and the battery light came on for about 10 seconds, then went off. Presumably some water got somewhere it shouldn't - any ideas where and if it's worth doing something about it, or should I just avoid the puddles in future :confused:

Crikey, BB's makes mine look brand new! Did the missus know about this planned summer/autumn/winter project? Boggled, that rear body crossmember is the bit with the sticking up part that the sealing rubber mounts over, right? That was the bit I was most worried about since it looks attached...
