    Head Gaskets and Engine clean up

    I was going to say it doesn't look to bad to me. I've seen a very much worse build up of gunk etc on some engines. I use baby wipes (no - not kidding) to clean stuff up. Don't know what is in them but they do a grand job on oil etc and don't leave cotton everywhere.

    Dont think so - tank was cleaned out when I changed from the Tdi and I've got a big filter inline before the fuel pump

    Aw don't be mad - just getting all the info that's all I've put one on order - just hoping it will cope with sucking the fuel out of the tank as don't have room for an additional pump and a swirl pot

    V8 Conversion exhaust

    3.5 manifolds fit ok. I've got 3.9s and I had to raise the engine to get the nearside one to clear the chassis. Other people have just raise the nearside engine mount so twisting the engine over.

    Yep - I read up on everything before I did this so I know the wiring is right. The coil has a constant supply and the ECU is powered. I did have a small problem with finding the earth wires but that is ok now. What kind of pump produces 34 psi?

    I've just spent the day finishing up wiring up the 3.9Efi which now fitted to my 88" Series. It was a 200TDi before. Got all the relays clicktying and good spark at t plugs. Fuel in - fuel pump ticks - turn key - BINGO...... Then it died.... Tried it again and again - it fires - runs...

    My Disco is on LPG multipoint. It does 18/19 mpg on petrol and slightly less on LPG. If you work the figures back, the cost equivalent is 32.33mpg on gas. That is very good for a big 4L truck. The only advice I have is get the LPG serviced once a year with new filters and keep your ignition...

    Remote oil filter - are there different types?

    I went to put a Mocal remote oil filter on the 3.9EFi today and it doesn't fit. The thread on the mushroom plate bit is to0 large (only just) for the filter thread. Am I missing something or are there different sizes - I thought Rover V8s had the same type of filter through the range.
