quick test to confirm my plans goes pear shaped :(

Well I had pretty much decided that the biggest tyres I could get away with were 40"........ but I just had to keep listening to those damn voices... so set off this morning with the intention of proving to myself that 46" tyres wouldn't work... however it backfired and I now think they may be...

    Roof lining carpet type options

thin cheap foam backed cord carpet from carpet right or such about £3 a metre and a can of evo stick.... get spray on as it goes a lot further than the paint on stuff... £30 all in or 15mm foam carpet underlay ... lightweight and plastic coating on both sides make it very easy to stick...

Defender Arches which ones are these??

plenty of arches out there... all depends on how much work u want to do..... my new toy has arches from another vehicle I dare not mention but are available from 6" wide right up to the 9" version I have fitted.... ideal as they mate quite well to comp rear corners..... fit the landy...

Defender Arches which ones are these??

I can tell u exactly what they are..... the arches are the extra wide version made by a company called Roccia plastics who designed them a few years ago and sent me a free set for agreeing to be their photoshoot vehicle... they sold them via scorpion racing and as far as I know went belly up...

I've done mine from the bare chassis up incl chopping the chassis for a 3" lift.... I found the easiest way by far was to bolt the rear tub solid as the rear x member is pretty much a fixed point then work forward... tp get the door gaps looking their best I have shimmed the bulkhead... 2 penny...

Planning on fitting one of these:

I went for the Pioneer apradio.... cheap unit, excellent sound and docks with your iphone to allow you to use a range of apps on radio screen when docked..... only issue is that it has no cd etc it purely runs either as a radio or music on your docked device.... also has camera input for my rear...

Forgive me forum for i have sinned...... :)

well managed to get a few more jobs done today... mainly the flip front and arches.... however I must confess as i'm afraid my landy is almost a hybrid.... to my enduring shame I have fitted arches from an American offroad vehicle.... cant even bring myself to say the name... however I shall...

    Flip Front Fun.....

Well the more I drank last night the better my idea seemed so cracked on this morning after a strong coffee or two.... An 8ft tall defender was clearly going to cause issues when I needed to work on the engine so after 3 litres of frosty jack I decided on a flip front... Brackets made n welded...

    disco R380 in defender

I wasn't too worried about modding my seatbox so kept disco box standard .... means a box swop is easy if I ever need to... gearstick is in a much more natural place imho.... falls naturally to hand cheers steve
