try this and see, when you get out, open the door, the warning of key in ignition with bing, then take the key out, i had this issue for a bit and it was just the ignition barrel, it soon sorted after a bit of graphite lube. may not be the answer but its a free solution to try for now.

ill try it on my housemates laptops and the usb i think and see what happens when i am back in norwich, dont want to bugger it, if not ebay myself a laptop that i can plug into directly, can only be handy!!

i will try it with the engine running then, but if i am honest i am a bit worried about fecking it up if it all seems to be working. how do i make sure i get a good idle?

if the re-sync fixed it surely its a rf reciever/alarm issue and the hot start wont make a difference?

no once i found the right com port there was no error message at all. i will make sure the engine is on later when i give it a try and see if the same codes come through and the same readings. thanks for the advice. tommy

ah no, it wasnt displaying good idle, it kept flickering., all doors and tailgate firmly closed, how do you manage the good idle sign, am i supposed to have the engine on or keep it in position 2? sorry for the silly questions. tommy

hello chaps, decided to procrastinate this morning and have a fiddle with the EAS software while I had access to a windows laptop. well, did the procedure, ignition in position 2, plug in, start program and got a whole bunch of error messages and odd calibration readings. i could not also...

i love a 2 door, think there is something extra cool about them. a friend has one out in Kenya (with a 4.6 and straight through exhaust) determined to have one in the fold when i am older. tommy

it sounds like you need a resync like i did the other. i called out a local independent with the gubbins to do it. I did think it could be fuel at first as everything was normal and it was turning over like a dream, but it was the darstedly alarm! tommy

that does sound quite royally buggered there. in my experience of an over heating v8's its not good, with rover v8's its really not good. If some utter gonad hadn't smashed into my classic when i had it i would have been getting a tasty unit from RPI and had the LPG re done, its a false economy...

same problem as i had last week, get the codes for the alarm reset and you will be fine. had the modified rf fitted this week to save the worry! Tommy
