Rust bleeding over the rear off-side mudflap!

My mum learnt that lesson the hard way. Brand new black Mits. Shogun (Shameful, I know), washed at first service. Came back with many small scratches in it. She couldn't be bothered to argue, but that would have really ****ed me off.

Glad you're on the way to getting it sorted. Can't believe you didn't have to argue. Adsey

Td5 rev limiter won't spoil the fun until you hit 4800rpm, which for a diesel is rather high. They tend to sound slightly rough above 3000rpm, but the peak power delivery is at 4200rpm, so you have to rev it to make the most of it.

Clunk when taking up the drive

Vibration gets worse when you floor it at 60, then fades away at 65. Goes if you lift off the gas. It's making me drive at either 55 or 65.

How do you check worn UJ's, mine's done the same and I've never got to the bottom of it. I'm now getting a vibration at 60, must definately be UJ's.

    Whining Td5

Just found this on an older thread, I did a search first, promise!!! (just maybe didn't try hard enough) I think changing the filter might be first on my list of things to try, although being serviced recently I would have thought it would have been done. Thanks for all the advice...

    Whining Td5

just been fully serviced, so yes new rotary oil filter. get a small groan at low speeds from power steering, but i know it's not this mainly because I wasn't turning the wheel. reckon I can rule out the fan belt as it wasn't a squeal more a "whine" as for the other suggestions...

word of advice: don't be afraid to hold on to gears and building up the revs when accelerating in a Td5, they love it really.

    Whining Td5

A wife and a girlfriend in the landy at the same time, now there's a recipe for trouble. I was on my own at the time, so I can rule out the girlfriend. I don't think she could make such a high pitch noise as this. Just been told by a friend that it could mean a couple of things, 1...

First of all, it's not just mine, it's shared with my dad. It's more family. Secondly it's bought from a a small ind. dealer in Sussex, not much trade, therefore low prices. I was bought with 55000 , bit of a beaten up working hard top, dodgy gearbox, scruffy inside. Paid some with all the...

Forgot to mention, if you don't want to spend a huge amount and just get better everyday driveability blocking off the EGR is a good start to better performance. Td5 Alive sell the blanking plate for around £50. Doesn't give much for extra performance, just much more flexibility...

As for wheels, thats a personal choice, but I do like the Mach 5's. Loads of places sell similar wheels so have a shop around. As for chipping, well... chipping a Td5 can give a huge increase in performance, if your looking for something more than a slight increase you would want to fit a...

    Whining Td5

Td5 was pulling me up a hill in 4th, when as the revs dropped it started to whine very loudly. Soon as I built up more momentum I changed to 5th and it whined again until I had some more revs. Whats causing the whining. It often makes a quiet whine but never this loud. Is it the fuel pump...
