Hey all, Not been on the forum for a while, she's been behaving herself. Just a strange noise has returned. At 65 or over when accelerating theres an odd ticking noise. Reasonably loud, cant hear anything when I rev it but appears when accelerating at high speeds. It was there a while...

do i have grounds to go on that they were charging me for it though, because no figure moneywise was put on the warranty, just the vehicle! Anyone on here good with legal stuff.

why are Land Rovers so bloody annoying :D:D Takes all the abuse i gave it over the winter towing lorries etc. greenlaning in the snow. without complaint, then the moment i give her an easy time dawdling up the dual carriageway every day, she starts to play up.

also another problem is that this has happened on and off for the last couple of weeks, so when i do sumfin, it'll probably be fine, and then in a few days ... Also, it's got 7mnths warranty from some company the selling dealer gave me. SHould i just ring them up and see if they can sort it...

If it was a dodgy connection to starter, why on some of the occasions do i get no dash lights either? I'll hav a look into both those ideas though.

I've had a number of issuse starting her up. Mostly first thing in the morning, but not always. On one occasion i've turned the key only to have no dash lights, nothing.. After 3 or 4 turns of the key all lights lit up and she burst into life. On the the other occasions i've had dash lights...

your lucky then, mine came with rusty steel wheels, and a rusty horrible roofrack. Off with the roofrack, some second hand freestyles BFG Mud's, and a good clean and she looks like new. Out of interest, what did you need to do with your cylinder head, and what mileage is it on.

on the schedule - Centrifuge rotor is listed as every 12000 miles

now you've got me a little confuzzled, because aren't the centrifugal filters meant to be changed every 12000miles, along with the oil?????:confused::confused:

Thanks for the tips charlsey. Lid came off nice and easlily thankfully, probably cos it was off 2000miles ago for the oil change. And now i hear it spinning down when i turn the engine off. The old one probably worked, (I'll take a hacksaw to it soon and find out), but I have some piece...

sorry for bringing back up an old thread. i'm also a little concerned as a few ago my local indie did an oil and centrifugal filter change as well as a number of things. I too can no longer here the filter spinning down after shut off. For piece of mind after reading this, id like to buy...

after a few thousnad miles I gave it an oil change, new rotor filter, new air filter, and new gearbox and trasfer box oil. The only things i've been meaning to do are change the axle oils, and give it a new fuel filter. So will get on and do them both now.

hi guys,m thanks for the VERY prompt reply's, ratty first: was sold to me fully serviced, looked like a new filter but on a side note (NEVER TRUST REID LAND ROVERS IN HORSHAM!! Lying little buggers)so it might not have been done. landy: the fuel pump is definately whinier than my old td5...
