    Heater Glow Plugs

I'll set a torque wrench up to just below the glow plug break off torque and take it steady, no need to rush. Got some PlusGas floating around somewhere. They make pretty much no difference to starting anyway unless it's really cold so may leave changing them until Autumn anyway. Nightmare, I...

    Heater Glow Plugs

If I feel brave one day I'll give it a shot, thanks for the tip :)

    Defender Rear Quarter Panel (?)

Mallet and a block of wood, bit of spray paint to touch it up, job jobbed. £500+ in the bank for other things. Gives the Landy a bit of character in my opinion, and you'll be less concerned when you are using it off road about that new wing you've just put on and is all shiny and new.

    Heater Glow Plugs

You can get the Beru ones from Eurocarparts for £40.57 this weekend with the WEEKEND30 discount code! I bought some a year ago and haven't fitted them yet, too scared that they'll snap, obviously yours are already out.

    Pedal Box Sound Proofing Sagging

Thanks for all the advice people, looks like I'll be getting the drill out. The edge is pretty shot and tattered. Will come up with something though :) It would really have to go some to snag the pedals, when your feet are there it holds it up out of the way.

    Pedal Box Sound Proofing Sagging

Ah, ok. Will get hold of some and give it a go! Cheers muchly :)

    Chequer plate wing tops

It'd look stupid putting chequered plate on a Rav-4

    Pedal Box Sound Proofing Sagging

When I first got my Defender a couple of years back the bit of sound proofing on the bulkhead around the pedals required wedging back into place about once a month. Over time it has gradually got more and more frequent, and at the moment it drops to this position pretty much every journey...

    Defender 90 judder

Mine judders on the odd occasion too, gets worse when it's damp/humid. Did a few searches a while back and there were mentions of a slightly warped flywheel, or contaminated surfaces possibly being the cause. Also a few mentions of HD clutches being a bit grabby. Mine only judders if you try to...

    Chequer plate wing tops

I'm a fan of resting tools and cups of tea on my wing tops. The pattern also stops things rolling around. Mines a light turquoise metallic blue, they plate's currently silver but may paint it black if I rebuild it at some point. If you have spots on the roof I have heard the reflections can...

    Touch up or re spray?

I'd go for touch up, preferably a home job as others have suggested. Then again if you DIY you may as well go the hole hog and blow over the entire truck. If the vehicle is being worked then a showroom finish will just make everything difficult, you'd be worried about scratching it. If you do...

    Tdi or td5?

My standard 90 CSW 300tdi with 265/75r16 tyres achieves about 26/28 mpg when just driving normally to and from work which is about 10 miles A/B roads no traffic, then 3 miles in a small town. When taking it steady it will almost scrape 30 if I take it steady.

    Tdi or td5?

If I was buying an only vehicle now then I'd probably opt for a TD5, although my 90 300tdi CSW would probably be fine if it had a disco transfer box, but I own a car for any long/motorway journeys. The one time I used my 300 to drive 150 miles, then 150 back, to Silverstone full of camping...

    Alarm issue

My alarm went crazy for a day. Picked up a trailer load of manure, drove up around the side of the house and parked it in the back garden. That afternoon when I took my other car to work the alarm went off 5 times, luckily there's nothing behind the house just trees which would absorb most of...

New Landy wanting a 90 or 110 defender any available sales or advise taken, bit clueless please help

Well, tapping at the chassis most people would probably be alright with unless they have something to hide, if you start battering it like you're putting down rivets on a ship then you'll probably be politely asked to leave. You could use a magnet(take a soft cloth so you don't damage paint...

    300tdi 1995 or 1997?

My 300 engined 90 will cruise at 60, it'll pull to 70 quite happily, probably hit 80 if I had a death wish. Coming back from MotoGP this year we kept a steady 65 for 100 miles or so. When just plodding to and from work I tend to just sit at no more than 55 which seems to be the sweet spot for...

Which diesel fuel is best for my old 300TDi?

Same things aren't they? Haha. Not sure if it's in my head but if I forget to put some in at a refill the engine seems to start making more after not too many miles, guessing all the lubrication gets washed off the injectors and pump and start making noise again. Or it's all in my head o_O

Which diesel fuel is best for my old 300TDi?

Tesco with Millers EcoMax, put BP Ultimate in it once but was on the way back from MotoGP and didn't really take much notice. The Millers Fuel additive makes a massive difference. Audibly runs smoother, even my old man says so and he's a bit hard of hearing!

Tried to save time, going to cost a bomb

This is ridiculous, if the fitter had any common sense he would have at least googled a picture of a Defender before cutting the holes. Not sure if you've mentioned what the person specialises in yet? Guessing it isn't a Land Rover specialist. The only way that I could see the template ending...

KBX Headlight surround.....before I break it!!

I just stuck some new Osram Nightbreaker Laser bulbs in mine and they seem a lot brighter than the old Phillips bulbs which I removed although not actually driven it yet, just flashed the lights to check they worked and they looked considerably less yellow and brighter. Had considered the Wipac...
