err No you can't - ditch the airbag that is! The new MoT rules state that any illuminated warning lamp is a failure, so as removal of the airbag will trigger the SLS lamp, it'll fail. I'm not sure whether removing the SLS system entirely will enable a pass, or whether the MoT centre's computer...

Always fit new tyres on the rear, regardless of vehicle. If you have less grip on the rear its likely to lose traction first and spin out on the road. Less grip on the front will be noticeable on the steering and you'll automatically drive to suit.

Have you adjusted the steering box? You can adjust out some play this way, but if the box itself is worn internally the only option is to replace it. Its not that difficult, just awkward due to tight access and the fact that the box is chuffin heavy! I did mine single handed on my old D2 a few...
