    Fuel-tank sender unit conundrum.

Yesterday I replaced the fuel tank on my 19j 110 defender. As the old sender-unit came out in one piece, and worked before removal, I decided to re-use it. Fitted it all back together, and now the fuel-gauge doesn't work:mad:. The gauge is getting power, because when I turn the ignition on...

Today i do not like my Defender!

When I was rebuilding my 110 it put up a fight every step of the way. I came in one evening covered in grease and blood to find my 2 kids laying under the coffee table, banging about with knives and forks. "what are you two up to?" I asked "Fixing our Landrover" they replied My youngest...

What mileage out of General Grabber AT2

They're a very good all round tyre. Mate of mine ran them on his l200. He reckons he got 25,000 miles out of them. I had them on my old 90. They were cracking. Only complaint I had, was they picked up stones, which then flicked off on the road.

The nice thing about my landy being laid up, is I've got my bosses 110 puma to buzz about in! It was clean when I got it.

Engine removal for oil leak repair

Garage are having a laugh. You could buy another defender for 2 grand!! I don't know of ANY job (bar a chassis change) that would cost that much.

The inside of all the pipes are dry. So can only assume that it's just a **** old filter. I'll keep an eye on it anyway. Thanks.

Both.. Although the rocker cover breather had been disconnected when I got it, the P.O can't have changed the filter:(:o. Also, the rubber "fanny" thing was missing from the bottom of the air-box, so all sorts of crud was getting in. Sealed it with a plastic disc and some silicon.

Whilst she's laid up, I decided to treat the old girl to a set of filters and an oil change. The first since I've had her. (Sorry!!) This was the air filter.

Bloody thing!! Noticed a small diesel leak form the tank. Phil and I dropped the tank, thinking it might be a fuel line. It wasn't. The tank is Swiss-cheese in a couple of places... New one ordered from Paddocks, should be here next week. Pics to follow. Anyone still interested??

    90 No Heat

If everything there seems in order, try pouring a solution of caustic soda into the heater matrix. Leave it for 10-15 mins and rinse it out really well. I had the same problem with my old Disco, and this worked a treat... What engine do you have?

So. On with the fun stuff! Went to Newbury 4x4 spares day with some dosh I'd saved up. Came away with; door cards, a cubby box, a steering guard, a bumper some light guards and a new light bar. All for 85 quid!! :) Set about fitting it all.
