No, no smell of fuel at all anywhere and was very careful with the injectors. The hesitating happens even when warm and on a quick restart. I have an endo so will have a look-good idea.

Not sure this is going quite the way I was expecting but its funny. I dont really want to have to take it all apart as you will well understand. The rail went back easily but should I have primed it or something when I reassembled. Is that though the only way I would be able to fix this problem...

Hi Marty P38 4.0 Thor 2000 You seem to be the go to chap for P38 drivers door lock problems. I have been advised by the forum members that the micro switches are my problem(random actuation of all locks) and that you may have a recon available. Is this correct and if so can I please buy one...

I have got a new fob from Land rover that worked immediately. Could this be the problem and is there any cure?

Yes operated with a remote fob. When driving it is all the locks apart from the drivers that lock and unlock randomly.

OK I guess I mean central locking-sorry.

Hi all P38 Thor 2000. I have inherited a ghost. The auto locking engages and disengages at random moments when parked or when traveling and occasionally when I operate my garage doors.... but not always. Annoying trait and cant get my head round it. Any thoughts. Many thanks Simon

Hi all Have just had my ECU done by Mark at Tornado and he had all the injectors for a clean. Whilst this was going on I replaced the coils as well-much simpler without the manifold on and got the horrible lacquer off said manifold as well. It all went back in properly, without fuss or problems...

Interesting. Its a chemical reaction and I would have thought that amongst all the clever people on this forum and their wider contacts that some chemist could work out an antidote. Paint does not do it for me so I will try some random chemicals and get back to you. Thanks Simon

OK guys, plainly I am being dumb. I have used the key to open the sunroof and to tilt it which I am assuming is "manual' mode but I have not gone to the fully open position, just fully closed. This proves the thing operates. How then do I re-engage the motor? Thanks Simon
