    P38A 2000 4.0 Thor. Reverse jumping out!

Hi All Had an incident today. Reverse kept jumping out from R to 3 after a couple of seconds. Went up and down the gate. Did it again and again. Repeated up and down the gate and after about 3 minutes panic appears to be clear.....but unnerving and need to know the reason. Had a friend check the...

    P38A Thor 2000. ECT sensor

Starting problem is not a problem really just a niggle. P38A Thor 2000. ECT sensor

Just between and behind alt and a/c pump correct?. Definitely 4 wires in. What reading should it give when cold. Daft question I know it should be 0 or more normally some degrees? Current thinking is that I get good starting from cold but hesitant when hot so maybe slightly faulty ECT. Thoughts?

P38A Thor engine....Air Con breather pipes.

Had to use the screwdriver as it is so high up and it was a tight squeeze under there(no ramp you see) and presumed the valve was stuck together. If that is the right fitting why is it above electrics?

    P38A Thor 2000. ECT sensor

Hi Have replaced all I can to try to settle my occasional warm starting problem. Happy to do this as I like to get to know the engine and after 80K miles replacing is no bad thing I reckon. However the only part yet to change that may have a bearing is the ECT sensor as apparently it is the...

P38A Thor engine....Air Con breather pipes.

Hi I have read about the recurring problem of water spraying onto passengers feet(get a new car she said!) so was able to check it all out today. Located the passenger well rubber pipe which was patently seeking to burst its banks so I went underneath where I was expecting a pipe coming sown the...

    P38A Hesitant starting

OK an update. I now know Britpart coils are not Bosch but Chinese (how come one never learns!) so I bought some Bosch ones. Took a deep breath and removed the manifold which unsurprisingly was much easier second time round. Replaced the coils and had a good mooch about checking all my work...
