Yep, tried taking it off, didn't like it, stuck it back. No change in mpg, warmup, etc

    Urgent help please...

Ok thanks James, I swapped a couple of old nipples as you suggested and that seems to have got it. Test drive went well, pedal is still a bit spongy so tomorrow I'll whip the wheels off, bleed again and check for leaks all round then road test again. Hopefully that will be the back of this job...

    Urgent help please...

The flexi saga turned out to be a duff thread, I cleaned it out and retried it and it worked, if I had tried the other side first it would have proved that the threads matched, 50/50 choice I guess.

I'll give it a go then, not sure if I can trust the actual caliper now though.

    Urgent help please...

Its really ****ing me off to be honest, even basic quality control would have caught this, I have no faith in the calipers now so changing is the only way forward I feel. If I try another nipple it may show and void whatever warranty I may have. I don't know whether to order a pair from...

    fishsponge's ongoing thread of problems!

Not really, the weights are crap from any fitters, it's the first one I've lost in many years, the bead leak was caused by a patch of corrosion on the rim. These guys work fast, four tyres fitted and balanced in under an hour is going it some and that was including chatting to me. The end...

    Urgent help please...

I've had enough of this fecking job now:mad: The pipes are all connected:) brakes bled ok:) fit pads and oh dear, Paddocks have sent me the wrong pins, they are the short ones for solid discs and not the vented kit I ordered. Hour and a half later after dragging round all the local parts...

    fishsponge's ongoing thread of problems!

I just did a quick web search, found event tyres, booked four grabber at's and had them fitted at work the following Monday. Tyres for me at least are a necessary evil, not something I'm going to waste much life on searching for. The service from event was excellent, they were called beck twice...

    britpart

Mine has loads of shunt in it too, I did find a worn half shaft spline at a front drive flange, I am fitting new flanges but it's the shaft that's worn. The transmission is generally very sloppy but I just alter my driving to cater for it. I can recommend the swivel kits from paddocks, but get...

I certainly wouldn't stretch my cambelt beyond 30k - 35k, just not worth it I don't think. I have just rebuilt my front hubs, some parts were britpart, some oem, they do have a two year warranty now but some bits are just crap like the bottom swivel bearings, £1.75ea ? What are they made of...

    Urgent help please...

Hopefully salvation is at hand, well tomorrow anyway. A chum in the trade is going to knock me up two short pipes with a female 3/8 on one end and a male 10mm on t'other. He reckons that they used old-stock imperial pipes and took the difference out in the little pipe that goes from flexi to...

Brakes Overhaul - What is best?

I would rather fit new pattern parts than fart around trying to get the new seals back into a rusty old caliper without getting any dirt in there.
