I know but as soon as I mention upgrade, different calipers, home made pipes they clam up and won't talk ! But why don't the pipes fit? They were listed as correct, numbers on bags match, of course they are both dirty now so I can't return anyway.!

Ok this is going beyond a joke now, Bought a nice shiny flare nut wrench, and after beating the fitting between two hammers, the fitting came undone:) So the plan was to undo the fitting, whip the spring clip off, pull the old pipe out and swap over with the new, all without losing too...

    Urgent help please...

I'll try massaging the end of the flexi pipe with some heavy mole grips, might crack the seal, then heat maybe. Need to get a new flare nut spanner first. One pipe is easy to replace but the other takes a it of a route round the body. Simple job eh!

He did ask me not to use it on steel pipe and as its not mine I cant risk trying it. Whats the chances of my el-cheapo tool making a simple female end on steel? If I'm doing an inline join I can put the conical female flare on the steel pipe and the male one on the copper?? Dont have any...

    Urgent help please...

Ok, the calipers are drilled and fitted very nicely, no probs with wheel clearance etc:) BUT then went to start plumbing in the pipes and it turns out the flaring tool I bought wouldn't flare a paper drinking straw:mad::mad: Lots of bent mangled bits of copper pipe and not one usable flare...

    Urgent help please...

Nah the most offroad she gets is a rally field or campsite:) but I do a fair but of trailering with braked and unbraked units. I had the old brakes fade on me once in Cornwall and I nearly shat myself, Vented ones sound very useful. I've packed up for today now, off for a drink or two:)...

Ok I'll drill them out. The pipes are sorted as I have some T pieces and a flaring kit so I can make up some plumbing for it.

    Urgent help please...

I was wondering about that but I kept asking myself the question "do I want to be drilling brake calipers?" It is only about 1-1.5mm too small so I guess it's do-able, won't be able to return them though if something else don't fit.

Thats where I got the damn things from! But the holes are too small for the bolts, more searching seems to think I need defender ones stc1267/6 but I don't want to go searching unless I know thats right.

Hi all, so I'm rebuilding the front hubs on my d1 300tdi 1994 and also upgrading from solid to vented discs. I was advised to get rtc6776/7 front calipers for vented discs, I just otto the stage where I lot them on and the bolt holes don't fit the bots - too small. Can anyone give me part...

    First Land Rover

Unless you are looking into going for serious offload, no mods should be needed apart from some AT tyres and some rope etc, discos are excellent.

Yeah, I've matched and replaced what came out, all seems to fit right. Also got the preload set and both hubs partially reassembled ready to go back tomorrow, gave it all a nice coat of gloss black paint, looks sweet:) When flaring brake pipes, what's the rule for double or single flares??

When reassembling stuff i normally pack bearings with grease, book says oil in this instance, but it uses one-shot which is a bit of both really. Pack swivel bearings with grease then reassemble?? I take the top bush (abs type) is greased too as one was pretty dry when i took it down, possibly...
