there is a trick using threaded bar I have not done it myself but you take some bulk head bolts out and replace with threaded bar then use them as a guide to slide gearbox on

Yes you can just slide the gearbox and transfer box back enough to change the fork but if your budget will allow you to afford a clutch you may as well do it at the same time as you will have enough room to do both which is what I done. Its as you said above the only real issue is the top...

If your not happy with the clamping power of your brakes have you checked that the brakes are working as they should be? ie caliper's moving free, pads free, disc's not wearing thin etc etc

I'm confused I thought discovery's and defender's have the same running gear chassis's etc? I find Discovery's more comfy to drive but do rust which is the benefit of the defender's alloy body work plus it makes them lighter than the Discovery's other than that I thought there pretty much...

yeah way to fussy that! carpets out, drain plugs out, stable gun the roof lining up then go get muddy then just wash inside and outside with a jet wash! simples! Plus leave the drain plugs out then any water getting in through the sunroof, bulk head, door seals etc etc just goes straight out...

Hi after going out this weekend I seem to of bent my rear trailing arm so was intending to upgrade and replace with cranked arms as I have a 2" lift already. My question is do I need to change the front arms the same time I do the rears or can I do them at a later date? Also recommendations...

depends if the top bolts are in or not really, im doing mine at the mo and the top bolts not being there makes it a lot eaiser. I had my box out within a couple of hours. I removed: Props, battery cables, starter motor, clutch cylinder (im changing it), centre console, gear & transfer box...
