tis sorted its a pre 96 engine with a longer 1595mm belt. i took it off yesterday and noticed some faint writing so cleaned it up with some white spririt and could just make out 1595! had a job to read it mind! All ordered for the job now.

its an oil bath air cleaner. there is no filter element as such and the crap sticks to the oil. perfectly normal mate.

i have two spare viscous boxes i will sell. one is a g plate and one is a k plate. the k plate works fine, havnt tested the g but everything else was ok. you'll have to remove it yourself as i havnt got the time at the moment but i'm only in Coleford!

paddocks do good deals on mintex brake kits. not had any trouble with them, had a few sets in the past. Would stay clear of the cheapest discs as they tend not to be that good.

its an easy job if the crank is still ok but if the bearing has run around the crank then it will be shafted. Engine out job then. either get it reground or an exchange. McDonald Landrovers were doing them for about £150 a while back. I had to replace the con rod aswell on my 200 it had chewed...

got some of those discs front and back on me 110 at the mo, they seem good for the money. look as good quality as mintex discs anyway. Those and ebc green stuff pads she stops a goodun now!

my 300tdi 110 costa me 350 a year with nfu. i'm 25 with 8 years no claims. nfu are pretty lax about landy stuff and presume none of them have the original engine anyway!

yes get a housing off a 2.5 petrol. should fit straight on and take same filter as 2.5 diesel, 200 and 300tdi.

looks jap anyway. Depending what gearbox it has your option vary. Presuming it has an lt77 diesel box the easiest option would be a 200 or 300tdi. both of which have come down in price and are relatively easy to put in. or a 2.5 na or td. or 2.5 petrol. If it has a v8 box either lt85, lt77...

the 4.0 crank will fit if it has the same size main bearing journals as the 3.9. some older 3.9 were the smaller type. It depends what year the 3.9 is. Just measure them against eachother.
