If you are struggling to undo the bolts, just drop it back into the wheel to get a better grip. Then you should be able to just knock it off the hub, it is a tight fit.

Yes the drain plug is a bit steep but is dosn't half make it easy and mess free.

I use a difflock drain plug with the drain hose, works a treat. Do your next oil change as normal then instead of replacing the sump plug replace it with one of these, next time there is no mess, when you attach the hose the oil then comes out down the hose and into a container, no mess! 4x4...
