Bbsguy once explained that it is a setting that's built into the BECM but it's not connected anywhere. I remember that there was some speculation about it being used to detect rain.

Well, the injectors were cleaned and checked at a Bosch shop while I was changing the cylinder head, so I'm guessing they're ok. Having the pump refurbished is an expensive job so I'll probably just replug the hot start fix box and call it a day. :)
