    Weber 38dgas

Has anyone used a weber twin choke on an rv8 with any degree of success? Saw a modified manifold on ebay and it sparked my interest. After a quick google search I unearthed some threads on other forums that seem to suggest good low down torque and decent fuel economy ( for a v8)

Stopped waving as the farmers round here just give you the "Do I know you?" Look.

    my 3.5 rebuild thread

Got it. NI mot centres are government run and not ordinary garages. It can sometimes be a bit of a pain. Much stricter than in GB.

    Cheers James!

    Jammed viscous fan.

The viscous fan on my newly fitted 3.9 serp motor is jammed on. No freewheel to it at all. Is this dangerous to run while I look for a good one?

    BLOS doohickeys

That was mine. A bit too far from the intake to work well.

    Clutch woes after install

Sounds like air in the system then. Try leaving the pedal pushed down overnight? Or reverse bleeding?

I feel your pain. Definitely fitted the release bearing?

    BLOS doohickeys

Less restrictive than mixers and supposed to work very well on EFI PLENUM. I used mine on a strange twin carb mash up plenum that worked but lacked oomph. If your engine is hi comp efi try it out.

I almost took a hammer to it!

Just drove 3.9!! It's got a lot of GO compared to before. The Crower 500229 kicks in at about 1500 and there's a big V8 roar as you stick to the seat!

Mine is an omvl too. But the blos needs a lot of vacuum to make it work well. Mine was a bit Heath Robinson, a long way from the carbs and a low comp V8 to boot. The engine sounded sweeter, but was down on power and used more gas. I guess a smaller plenum and hi comp motor would have improved...

I almost took a hammer to it!

Carbs and mixers for now, tried BLOS but lost power on the 3.5.

I almost took a hammer to it!

Yesterday I buttoned up my 3.9 install. This is the biggest job I've done on the Landy to date. I checked and double checked all the connections, wiring, hoses etc, took a deep breath and fired it up. The oil light went straight out and after a few turns she fired into life. I started the next...

JUST a little bit tighter AAAnnnd ... CRACK?! (Oh dear)

I use the blue stuff. Seems to work fine.

About to lift my engine back in again.

Forecast was for rain all day so I started off with the intention of cleaning up the engine bay. But the sun stayed out and so did I. Managed to get the 3.9 mounted in the car.
