I've had a good day today. After changing the plugs, coil, and distributor I chucked some petrol down the carb and to my amazement it fired up for the first time in 15 years. Runs really sweet too :D After getting the engine running I decided it was time for it to come off the old chassis...

I dropped mine today too. I was a bit luckier in that I only got oil out of it

I've spent what felt like a long time getting the gearbox out today. Got there in the end Then I chucked some degreaser at it and had a quick go with the pressure washer, came up ok for a quick blast. Just need to do it a bit more with a brush in a few places

I had a 2.6 109 like yours a couple of years ago. It would cruise happily at 65, and I was getting around 15MPG at the very best.

Now painted I'd hoped to have it rolling by now. The first set of springs turned out to be be faulty, unfortunately so did the second set :roll: I've ordered some more from a different company, so hopefully they'll be here this side of the bank holiday weekend.

Depends what you're getting. I can get a truckcab in if it's on 205x16 tyres, but nothing higher

Here it is with the shine removed. I got the mordant solution on. Couple of bits need doing again where there must of been some grease or muck I missed, but I'll redo those bits tomorrow.

It says Duramold on it, not a make I've ever heard of. It's certainly a copy of something, but I'm not sure what. Sorry

I got the springs on the axles this afternoon, already for the new chassis on Monday :D
