Update. Mirror came from fleabay so removed broken one from mirror assembly, spent about half an hour removing bits of old glass and sticky backing, so nice clean heater pad to stick to now. New mirror fitted, not bad, although it's about 2 millimetres smaller than old one so a 1 mill gap all...

Lol. I have two full boxes of various sized O-rings, prolly about 60/70 different sizes, and guess what, over the years when needing an O-ring for something or other, I've NEVER had the right size. Trouble is, there are hundreds of different sizes and thicknesses, so prolly better off ordering...

This is another problem I had about a year ago, it really ****ed me off for weeks. Same symptoms, braking was fine until the last few yards before stopping, sort of a grinding noise just like a pad was down to the metal and scraping the disc. I checked the discs several times and they looked...

Sometimes tyres wearing unevenly can make this type of noise, I once had this problem on a focus I used to have, I changed both rear wheel bearings as I thought it was them, just turned out to be tyre wear. Worth a look maybe.

OK, I've sussed it. It's the VCU support bearings. I layed down beside the landy and slid a leg under and against the prop shaft next to the rear VCU bearing and pushed a few times. I got the exact same bumping noise, as I assume the bearing is hitting against the inside of the bearing...
