Freelander 1 Hissing noise from front left, mostly when cold

PS, I think I can't use the clips coming with the boots from GKN, can I? They don't like if I could open them.

Thank you Arctic2. Just called the blokes and next appointment is Tuesday, so got booked in, but might get under the car and see if I can get it sorted. Have a new boot somewhere in the attic which should have a new clip.

Ok, the right side shows around 11.5cm and the left side (n/s) 15cm between the boots. I think that should be ok, what GG mentioned might be more the point then.

Freelander 1 Hissing noise from front left, mostly when cold

I checked the discs and they were moving fine. Couldn't hear that sound. The odd thing is the driveshaft gaiter looks odd. Could there be coming noise from? Definitely didn't look like that when it arrived. I think it was in the garage for that to be installed about three month' ago. Tried to...

Ok, will check that one. Didn't think about something like that because of the new DS.

Freelander 1 Hissing noise from front left, mostly when cold

No I think it remains the same sound, just it seems to disappear after a while. Could also be inaudible when driving faster, but I think it's the earlier one.

Sorry the pads were changed with the discs as they said if disc then pad.

Freelander 1 Hissing noise from front left, mostly when cold

Hello All, I have a hissing noise from the front left. It started after the driveshaft was changed. I had brought it back to the garage, they checked the shield behind the brake disc and bend it a bit out as the bloke thought it might be that. It was good for the rest of the day and then came...

Excellent, happy to read you've got it sorted. The shocks were the first one on mine that I had changed when it all started. Last year the two rear ones went as well. Have all Sachs on now.

Freelander 1 Euro 6 conversion? Charge?

Yes, maybe setting up a website, where people could register if interested. How many cars did they say would be affected? 100,000? PS Had a talk with someone from at the garage yesterday and he said there might also be people need changing jobs that can't afford to get another car, bur working...

Rumbling noise from front driving me crazy! help?? SOLVED

Did you check the engine mounts? After I had changed all on the front I went to the garage last year, saying that I was still having trouble and that as everything was changed already the only bit I could think of were the engine mounts. They came back with front lower one as far as I remember...

Freelander 1 MAF unplugged and MOT

Yes, I am curious as well. Having no remap, but some emissions saver still. Might give it a try.

Freelander 1 MAF unplugged and MOT

No note about the MAF not connected and that's why failed or just failed due to bad emissions? What did you do, connect and go back?

Freelander 1 MAF unplugged and MOT

No the MAF should still be fine, even though it's a 25£ off ebay one. I have a new Bosch around as well, but testing as it seems that power is better without and fuel seems to be better as well. It's a bit up and down, might be more related to the missing temp. sensor on the MAF. No, the MAF...
