Series Steering Wheel on a Defender

Series 3 is 48 spline. Pretty sure yours should be 36 spline unless someone swapped the column out.

    TD5 Fuel pump mystery

Assuming I understood you correctly after half a bottle of wine... Continuity just means at least one strand of the wire is intact and working, or that it's not so degraded that it can't pass the test, but could still be in **** state and not able to pass enough current. You're best bypassing...

    DIY interior headlining

It's an impossible question to answer. Is it doable with wood? For me? no because I'm terrible at wood working. Is it possible for a carpenter with 30yrs experience. Probably a breeze. How good are you at woodworking. There's your answer.

    Steering box drop arm play

You'll have to take it apart but it's likely the balljoint is worn and needs replacing rather than wear on the crossrod end. The rubber boot looks split anyway?

What mods are required for this......

This image is better. 305/70 R16 Toyo Open Country. Toyo recommend an 8", 9" or 10" wheel Deep dish, so probably Gojo Deep Dish. Found here at Tyres Direct. If you speak to Greg Oliver at that company and send him the picture he'll advise if you need spacers or not. Very fast at replying, good...

    Help dating my Defender 90.

You need to buy a FULL heritage certificate from the British Motor Museum. That will tell you for sure and DVLA will amend your log book. https://www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/news/2020/november/25/how-to-get-a-birth-certificate-for-your-classic-car/...

    110 with Izizu 2.8 - Converting Back to 200tdi - What Mods?

There you go, both engine mount adaptors and the Gearbox adaptor on the Isuzu.

    110 with Izizu 2.8 - Converting Back to 200tdi - What Mods?

I've got an Isuzu in mine. The 2.8 comes with a simple kit avoiding any welding. So you get the alloy gearbox adaptor for the R380, and the engine mounts are fabricated to marry the Isuzu engine to the existing LR chassis mounts. Or should be if a cowboy hasn't done the conversion. So how easy...

    Fuel tank outie

Is indeed a ballache unless you take the rail off. Can be done though if you're persistant enough.

    Help needed

Small claims court (MCOL). You'd win no problem. If they don't pay you can ask the court to enforce the judgement. They'll definitely end up paying.

    Frozen handbrake?

Same problem. I just rocked it and it broke loose. No harm done. Park it in gear.

    Anyone else got snow? ❄️

Strange phenomena in Ruthin that I've not seen before. Pretty thick snow everywhere for miles, but when you're on the hills looking down into Ruthin its an island of green surrounded by white. The snow won't stick.

    Tail light mystery

They were servicable for the time and kept the Land Rover bean counters happy, but there's far superior solutions this century; Econoseal, Superseal, Deutsch, Kostal, etc.

    Tail light mystery

I had all sorts of problems with the back lights. Brake lights work, tail lights not. One indicator working, the other not. Reverse not working. Fog worked, then didn't. I bought a new 18" earth strap, installed that, and ran a 14 gauge wire from that to the other side of the rear. Then routed...

    Landrover insurance

Relatively cheap compared to most other vehicles on the road. In my experience, insuring a Series or Defender has been significantly cheaper than any other vehicle I've owned. And as miktdish states, yes, being handy with the spanners is ideal. The cheaper the Defender, the more mainenance it...

    Landrover insurance

Insurance will be relatively cheap on a Defender compared to most other vehicles, but what you save there you'll pay on road tax ~£735 tax, and lots of maintenance. And if you're worried about the Jimney "Having problems", then you've seen nothing compared to a Land Rover. Defender owners are...
